Chairman’s New Year Message
Happy New Year to all members, forum members and Tollers!
During 2009 the Club has held many successful events including training days in various disciplines such as Gundog Training, Heelwork to music, Scent Workshop, Agility and also numerous Toller meets up and down the country. The Club’s Funday was very well supported in spite of the weather and a good time was had by all; the date for this year’s Funday is June 5th 2010. We have several events planned for 2010, including more training days and Toller meets; the dates and venues will be announced as soon as they are arranged. Please keep logging on to the forum for information!
Last year we unfortunately had our largest ever number of Tollers coming into rescue due to owners being unable to cope with them anymore for various reasons. Five dogs were successfully rehomed, another four are still in our care. One will be going to a new home in April and the other three are staying with us for assessment and training until suitable homes are found. Thank you to everyone who has donated money to our rescue fund or helped to raise funds to help with the upkeep of these dogs.
‘talking Tollers’ our free club magazine won a VHC award in the Dog World newspaper newsletter competition. Many thanks to all of you who contributed articles in 2009 and to our editors Maz and Dave. If anyone has an interesting article we could use then please contact Marilyn Marshall our editor. The latest issue of the newsletter will be with you soon and will include several important club documents, including the details of the forthcoming AGM.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee for all the hard work they do for the Club; organising events, supporting members, transporting rescue dogs, producing the newsletter and calendar, running competitions etc. which all add to making the Club the success it is today, also our IT experts who have done a wonderful job of the Club’s website and forum.
Wishing you and your dogs a Happy & Healthy 2010
Helen Withey

2008 Christmas Message
The Officers and Committee of the Toller Club of Great Britain, would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our forum members and club members a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
2008 has been a busy year for the club, with our biggest funday ever taking place in Derbyshire with a record 93 people attending. Our forum and website has been upgraded with new pages for rescue, online membership applications and health. Various training events were also held over the year , the T-Touch training day, Gundog training day and even a Heel Work to Music day.
It is important to note that this progress would not have been possible without the input of all those associated with the Toller Club of Great Britain, the members, the forum members and our committee.
As we move into 2009, we hope to continue to improve and grow and have plans for further training days and additional features on the website.
Thank you all for your invaluable contribution.
A very happy Christmas and joyful 2008 to you all.
